The company I work for, Automattic, is a distributed company. That means our employees live and work all over the world. A few times each year, we meet up to spend time working and having fun together. I’ve just returned from a meetup in Barbados, where we worked on the email subscription feature of WordPress.com and Jetpack.
The Portugese came to Barbados en route to Brazil. It was at this time that the island was named Los Barbados (bearded-ones) by the Portugese explorer Pedro a Campos.
We spent most of our days working at the hotel, taking breaks to go swimming, and venturing into town in the evening for dinner. On our last full day, we spent a few hours on a small catamaran and then toured the Mount Gay Rum Distillery. Here are
some a ton of photos from the trip!
